We repeatedly receive support requests from users who want to reactivate OCAD on a new computer.
OCAD Single User licenses can be activated independently on a new device, even if the old device is no longer accessible!
Simply install OCAD on the new device and start the activation process. During the activation process you will see on which devices the Single User license has been activated and you will have the option to deactivate the license on another device.
You can then complete the activation process yourself.
Reminder: Transfer of OCAD Team licenses
For OCAD Team licenses, we recommend to set the option Deactivate this license automatically when closing OCAD in the License Manager tool in the Help menu,
If a Team license got stuck somewhere (e.g. hard disk failure, license transfer has not worked correctly or due to an inactive user), use the Transfer form on our website. We will reset the license so it can be installed and activated again on a new device.
I have a desktop computer and a Surface tablet, and want to use OCAD on both computers dayly with a single user licence. What do you reccomend, the “Transfer OCAD Single User License Yourself” method or that I shall Contact OCAD Support for “further activations for own devices can be granted by OCAD on request”.
I think it will be good for many users if you make a clear statemnet on this issue.
So far I am using the old OCAD12 license on the Surface tablet since my plan is to buy a new Surface next spring.

If you want to activate your Single User license on an additional own device, you have to contact OCAD support so we can unblock the license once more.

What is the advantage of the subscription option for “OCAD for Single Users“?
For people who often work with OCAD and want to use OCAD on different devices, we recommend a Single User licence .
The user can activate the license automatically on 1 device (desktop or notebook). In order to allow the use on several own devices at the same time (desktop, notebook, tablet) further activations for own devices can be granted by OCAD on request.
